FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY NEWS

The Friends of the Library thank you for your generous support in 2024!

We had two very successful book sales this year – one in Topeka and the other in LaGrange. Plus, the ongoing sale remains quite popular. Due to these sales, our inventory of books to offer is less than it usually is. We will announce sale dates for 2025 once the supply is built back up.

In the meantime, the ongoing sale at the LaGrange branch will continue.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a group of local citizens who volunteer our time to promote our library, literacy, and reading programs in our community.

WHAT DO WE DO?

  • Ongoing book sale
  • Annual book sales
  • Fund adult and youth programs
  • Fund summer reading program
  • Volunteer to help at the library and other events

THE FOL HAS PROVIDED:

  • Out-of-print books for the Library’s collection
  • Popcorn machines
  • Outdoor seating
  • Refreshments and prizes for Library programs
  • Graphics for the Library’s transit van
  • Assistance with library fundraising efforts
  • Support for the Library’s children’s programs
  • Table lamps
  • Board games and chess set
  • Décor for the fish tank

VOLUNTEERING:

In addition to financial support for the Library, you can also lend a hand by volunteering.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Friends of the LaGrange County Public Library will work to support the mission and goals of the Library.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

  • Voting privileges at annual meetings
  • Early admissions to library book sales
  • Early notification of future projects

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES & DUES:

  • Student (18 and younger) $1.00 per year
  • Adult $5.00 per year
  • Family $10 per year

TO BECOME A MEMBER:

  • Dues are renewable in January of each year
  • Membership applications may be picked up at any branch of the LaGrange County Public Library, including the bookmobile, or CLICK HERE to download a Friends’ brochure/application (requires Adobe Reader).
  • Simply fill out the Application and return it to any library branch with your annual dues.
