The LaGrange County Library Bookmobile service, launched in 1952, was created to enhance library access for residents in rural areas. For many residents, the convenience of the Bookmobile has made it easier to borrow books and other materials, especially for those who may not have the time, transportation, or ability to regularly visit a traditional library branch. This mobile library has become a valuable resource, helping to foster a love of reading and lifelong learning to people that might otherwise have limited access to such services.

Our Bookmobile offers many of the same services as our library branches, but on a smaller scale. The book collection is divided into the following categories:

• Christian Fiction
• Adult Fiction
• Non-fiction (including true stories, cookbooks, home health, and DIY books)
• Mysteries
• Biographies
• Magazines
• Children’s Picture Books
• Easy Readers (fiction and non-fiction)
• Chapter Books (fiction and non-fiction)
• Young Adult (fiction and non-fiction)
• Graphic Novels

Additionally:
• Patrons can request books, DVDs, and audiobooks if they’re not available on the bus.
• Library staff can help with library card applications and issue new cards.
